On a recent trip to our favorite island, St. Simons Island, we were relaxing at the pier following our evening dinner. Sunset is spectacular each evening. Enjoying the sunset over the Sidney Lanier Bridge in the distance, I heard a noise just behind me. I turned around and behold a crusty old pelican had landedContinue reading “Summer Friend”

Quiet Results in Peace
A visit to parks in our area allows me to be in nature. Stopping to listen to the sounds of nature results in peace for me. My visits remind me that God is here with me when I become anxious. A recent visit to Lake Wilson, in Wilson, NC yielded this watercolor.
My God is With Me All the Time
“I’ve seen it in the lightning, heard it in the thunder,And felt it in the rain;My Lord is near me all the time,My Lord is near me all the time. ” Barbara Gaultney This painting is inspired from one of my visits to the country of Eswatini located in southern Africa.
“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” -Genesis 1
Over the past few months my studies have led me to think more about nature. As I walk through wooded areas, visit parks, and experience the fragrance of the flowers, I am more and more aware of God through being involved more in nature around me. I have always been aware that God reveals himselfContinue reading ““In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” -Genesis 1”

Soon theContinue reading “A Trip Down Highway 97”

Prayer of the Children
Sometime back I did this sketch of a child praying. At my local church choir rehearsal last evening, we were rehearsing a piece entitled “Prayer of the Children” ( words and music by Kurt Bestor). I was reminded of this work and wanted to share it with you. “Prayer of the Children” is about innocentContinue reading “Prayer of the Children”

Early morning was so peaceful and I was stunned as the morning sun slipped up and behind the hill near our residence. To purchase a copy: http://www.lacountanderson.com (mixed media gallary).
